Holiday City and Liberation

Dreaming of a getaway on the shores of the Mediterranean?
You’ve come to the right place.

The Galei Sanz Hotel is located across from Netanya’s city beaches — pristinestretches of sea and sand that are among the most beautiful in the country. The coastline is replete with inspiring views of the rocks and cliffs at the foot of a stunning promenade.During the summer months you can head down to the beach and take a dip among the waves.
The Galei Sanz Hotel is located next to the insular Kiryat Sanz neighborhood of Netanya — a short trip from the city center, adjacent to the beachside promenade, and a short distance from a nature reserve and the other local attractions. The hotel is also considered a strategic departure point for trips in the area, to the central region, and to the North. The hotel’s central location enables you to take advantage of the abundant local attractions and those in the surrounding regions. The city of Netanya is situated on major traffic arteries, including the “beach road” (Highway 2) and Highway 57. The beaches of Netanya encompass a sprawling 13.5 kilometers of Eretz Yisrael’s most exquisite, golden beaches. Netanya’s beaches run from the northern part of the city until to the base of the limestone cliffs and from the southern section until the mouth of the Poleg Stream. The limestone ridges that “nip” the shoreline provide visitors with high observation posts from which they can gaze at the expanses of the Mediterranean. Along the shoreline, there are 7 official beaches that local residents and tens of thousands of tourists from Eretz Yisrael and worldwide use during the summer months. At the beaches, there are a number of restaurants, bathing facilities, and various attractions. The Netanya coastline is the center of a wide range of activities: surfing, beach volleyball, beach soccer, water sports, and of course — the paragliders that already became the symbol of the city long ago.

The Separate Beach

Netanya’s separate beach facilities underwent a comprehensive renovation and now feature: convenient stairs leading to the beach, a pleasant restroom and dressing room building, and an improved fence, lifeguard tower, shade canopies, and exercise equipment. For the benefit of the swimmers, the beach also has a Kosher L’Mehadrin snack stand, supervision, first aid and Hatzalah services. The beach is open for swimming from the summer season through the yom tov of Succos.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is, without a doubt, one of the most fun, unforgettable pastimes in the world. It’s suitable for groups, families, and even for organizations and companies. This recreational experience is good for nearly all ages — from age two, a child can ride on a pony. And what could be better than riding a horse across a spectacular beach? For many, the combination of horseback riding and the beach gives them a very unique pleasure and sense of freedom. And if the horses step into the water a bit, all the better…

Flying a paraglider is a special, challenging, and heavenly experience — between Heaven and Earth —soaring like a bird above the cliffs and the coastal plain between Netanya and Hertzliya.

Above us there’s a person using his paraglider as wings in the wind and in back of us there’s someone with a separate harness, guiding other paragliders — and beneath us are the breathtaking cliffs, coastal plain, and the beach

Paragliding is a challenging activity for age 6 and up.
The length of the flight is approximately 12 minutes. The paragliding area is about 42 kilometers large. Maximum weight: 300 kg Paragliding speed: 40 kph

The Iris Nature Reserve

The Iris Reserve is a nature reserve in Netanya, close to the Mediterranean.  The reserve has many types of animals such as: foxes, rabbits, voles (“field mice”), and turtles. A colorful bouquet of flora grows on the reserve, including: groundsels, irises, and anemones. Together, this reserve and the nearby Winter Lake Park form an important tourism region in the city.

Winter Lake Park

Winter Lake Park, otherwise known by its local nickname, “the Winter Puddle” is a mini lake that forms in the winter, in the southern section of Netanya. The area surrounding this water was declared a nature reserve and it has been developed into a public park. Winter Lake Park is now one of the main parks of the city. This park is northeast of the Iris Reserve, between the “Iris” neighborhoods of Neve Oz and Ramat Yigal Yadin.

The Alexander River – Turtle Bridge

The Alexander River flows from the mountains of the Shomron until the Mediterranean. The river is 32 kilometers long. The lower portion of the river and its surrounding area have been declared a national park. If you wait patiently, you’ll spot the turtles swimming serenely in the water. During the months of May and June, female softshell turtles lay their eggs in pits that they dig on the riverbanks. After 2 months, the turtles hatch and run into the water. Softshell turtles grow to a length of 1 meter and a weight of up to 50 kilograms.

Battalions Museum

The Battalions Museum is located on Moshav Avichayil, north of Netanya, and is dedicated to commemorating the Jewish and Israeli volunteers who joined the British Army during the two World Wars. This museum is run by the museum division of the Ministry of Defense.

Escape Rooms

Escape rooms first appeared in Japan and China in 2007. Since then, they have amassed a community of fans in America and Europe as well. There are currently escape rooms in over 60 countries worldwide, and more and more people are drawn to this exciting activity every day. An escape room is an interactive adventure game during which the participants (generally between 2 – 7 of them) are locked inside a room. Only by solving riddles and following a series of clues can they find the escape route. Simply put, an escape room is sort of like stepping into a computer game — except that everything is happening for real. The players need to work fast because the time allotted for solving the case is usually limited to 60 minutes.
You’ll need to make decisions solely based on your reasoning, deductive skills, quick hands, and creative mind — but think fast! The clock is ticking…  Imagine the feeling you and your group will have if you manage to find the Exit in time. If you’ve decided to take part in an escape room adventure, get ready to choose from a wide selection. You might find yourself in a classic get-out-this-room setup or a situational escape room that tosses you into the midst of dramatic tale, for example, one that takes place on a pirate ship. While you’re playing this game you may experience a range of emotions — everything from pressure and anxiety to confidence and victory. And who knows, after going through such an adventure together, you and your group may escape as better friends than when you went in!

There are 28 escape rooms in Netanya. All you need to do is pick the adventure that speaks to you. For a complete listing:
